About The Position

Paramount Pictures is seeking a seasoned and strategic executive to serve as Senior Vice President, Business Affairs for its Theatrical Motion Picture Group. This leadership role will be responsible for overseeing business affairs matters across Paramount's theatrical film slate, leading complex negotiations, and partnering with senior studio leadership to support the development, production, and distribution of feature films.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive Business Affairs experience within a major motion picture studio, production company, entertainment law practice, or comparable entertainment organization.
  • J.D. required.
  • Significant experience negotiating complex theatrical motion picture agreements involving high-profile talent, filmmakers, and production entities.
  • Deep understanding of talent compensation structures, participation agreements, rights acquisitions, production finance, and motion picture business practices.
  • Proven ability to lead sophisticated negotiations and manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Exceptional business judgment and strategic thinking capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business affairs strategy and negotiations across projects, deals, and productions for Paramount's theatrical motion picture slate.
  • Structure, negotiate, and administer complex agreements involving actors, writers, producers, directors, production companies, financiers, and rights holders.
  • Negotiate and oversee high-value talent transactions, including term deals, first-look agreements, overall deals, rights acquisitions, and multi-picture commitments.
  • Partner closely with Creative, Production, Legal Affairs, Finance, Labor Relations, Distribution, and senior Motion Picture Group leadership to support studio and project objectives.
  • Advise on talent compensation, contingent compensation, participation structures, credits, approvals, and other key business terms.
  • Evaluate and mitigate business, financial, and legal risks associated with film development, production, and distribution.
  • Maintain expertise in guild and industry practices, including SAG-AFTRA, WGA, DGA, and related collective bargaining agreements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop members of the Business Affairs team while fostering strong cross-functional relationships throughout the organization.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives on negotiation strategy, deal structuring, and industry trends.
