About The Position

As a Quality Engineer on Advanced Development Programs, you’ll be responsible for driving process improvements, managing variation, and influencing cross-functional strategies that reduce defects, field escapes, scrap, and rework. You’ll collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, Sustainment Operations, and supply chain teams while representing the voice of quality in a fast-paced, innovative environment. This position is in Palmdale, CA.

Requirements

  • Experience in root cause, corrective action, field/manufacturing metric analysis and creation
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: quality engineering, quality assurance, inspection, quality auditing
  • Experience with reading and interpreting engineering requirements and specifications and apply their intent for evaluating acceptance of quality products
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with some of the following: Internal surveillance systems/auditing systems, Inspection Planning and Work Instructions, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Inspection methods, Statistical Process Control, Key Characteristic management (design and process KCs), RCCA tools and skillsets, Metrics development; analytics
  • Experience working Supplier Quality issue resolution with Supply Chain
  • Experience with Ground Operations Compliance
  • Must be a US Citizen for consideration due to security clearance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors in Stem or some Business Related area
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • Demonstrated ability to work at all levels of the organization to identify and drive systemic root cause and corrective action utilizing quantitative, qualitative analytical capabilities to communicate and influence others in a concise, data driven manner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills needed for collaboration, communication, and presentations
  • Knowledge of AS9100/AS9110 Quality Management System Requirements
  • Ability to work independently and without direct supervision
  • Excellent teaming skills; must interface with all levels of management, technical experts, and field/floor level personnel in a multi-organizational environment
  • Green Belt or Black Belt, CQE or CMQOE certification
  • Experience with D/PFMEA, Process improvement tools (DMAIC, Six Sigma)
  • Full Scale Determinant Assembly manufacturing practices
  • Supplier QA engagement
  • Supplier performance management KPIs
  • PLM lifecycle knowledge
  • Software QA integration
  • Test, system checkout
  • Composites (desired skill: fabrication of composites)
  • Strong in Full Scale Determinant Assembly manufacturing practices
  • Experience with: 3D Model Based Environments like Catia, NX, 3DX or XVE
  • GD&T Experience
