About The Position
This position is for a Summer 2026 Sustainable Agriculture Apprentice at Chatham University's Eden Hall campus. Employees will engage in a variety of agricultural enterprises, including organic vegetable production, orchard management, mushroom production, and other seasonal farm tasks. The role involves collaborative work with crews, adapting to the farm's seasonal needs, and contributing to tasks such as pest identification, soil amendment determination, greenhouse planting, and harvest planning with Parkhurst. During the winter, responsibilities also include tapping maple trees and managing organic orchards. This is a student employee position with specific hour limitations, emphasizing hands-on work and a commitment to diversity and inclusion within the campus environment.
Requirements

- Not work more than 20 hours per week (combined between all campus jobs) during the academic year
- Not exceed 980 work hours per calendar year
Responsibilities
- Work on organic vegetable production
- Work on orchard management
- Work on mushroom production
- Perform other seasonal agricultural tasks on the Eden Hall campus
- Work collaboratively with crews to accomplish tasks
