About The Position

The Sushi Cook is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality sushi dishes to guests in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards. This role ensures that all sushi ingredients are fresh, properly handled, and consistently prepared in a clean and safe work environment. The Sushi Cook will also engage with guests at the oyster/sushi bar, delivering excellent customer service and contributing to a memorable dining experience.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sushi Cook or in a similar culinary role.
Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and plating.
Solid understanding of food safety standards and sanitation procedures.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business requires.
Food Certification

Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble sushi dishes according to recipes and presentation standards.
Ensure the freshness and quality of all ingredients used.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and tools, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Manage inventory of sushi ingredients and notify management of supplies needed.
Follow proper food handling and storage procedures.
Assist in training new staff members.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders.
Maintain a consistent standard of quality for all sushi dishes.
Engage with customers at the oyster bar/sushi, providing knowledgeable answers about menu items and making recommendations.
Present dishes in an appealing and appetizing manner.
Handle customer inquiries and special requests professionally and courteously.
