This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, and execution of all food items, interacting with team members and supervisors politely and courteously to ensure gracious hospitality. The Sushi Cook will anticipate and accommodate guest needs, handle allergy and dietary restrictions, and accurately follow orders from the POS system or expeditor. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the station, kitchen, and venue is crucial. The position requires following supervisor instructions, communicating with and supporting co-workers, and possessing in-depth knowledge of recipes to execute them to company standards. General knowledge of the venue and compliance with Department of Health and company sanitation standards are also necessary. The role involves communicating product needs to chefs and support staff, checking cover counts, BEOs, and/or Fire Sheets. Proper station setup, opening/closing procedures (stocking, mise en place, sanitizing, side-work), and reporting equipment damage are key responsibilities. The Sushi Cook will attend daily pre-service meetings, training sessions, and departmental meetings, learning by observing and sharing knowledge. A positive and professional attitude, knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality and its partners, and teamwork are essential. Additional tasks as assigned will also be part of the role.
