About The Position

Fisher Industries is seeking a Surveyor to join their Arizona Drilling & Blasting Division. This role is based in Utah and surrounding areas, requiring travel to various company locations across the United States, including Arizona, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, and California. The Surveyor will be responsible for setting up GPS control, assisting with layout and grade setting for drillers, logging blast holes, quantifying shots, generating reports using Agtek, creating CSV files, and supporting blast crews. The position emphasizes safety, quality, and adaptability within a family-owned company environment.

Requirements

• Strong computer skills
• Strong time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines
• Travel is required

Nice To Haves

• Related field experience in surveying
• Knowledge and understanding of using TopCon

Responsibilities

• Set up GPS control as needed
• Help layout and set grades for drillers
• Log all blast holes per GPS
• Quantify shots by creating existing/design surfaces
• Generate quantity reports using Agtek
• Generate CSV files as needed
• Help with blast crews as needed
• Survey and provide current and accurate maps of mine operations
• Blast design layout
• Communicate and correct deviations from the mine plan (over digging, leaving walls fat, too high benches, etc.)
• Anticipate potential survey problems and avoid them or respond in a timely manner with a solution
• Responsible and accountable for the performance, and compliance of mine site safety and environmental policies and procedures for all personnel and vendors
• Provide safety and environmental leadership by always setting a good example
