About The Position

The selected candidate will be placed in the classification in which they meet minimum qualifications. This role involves working alongside ODOT professional surveyors & engineers, receiving training in the operation and maintenance of survey instruments, and gaining hands-on transportation training and experience needed to further a career as a surveyor with ODOT. The position requires conducting survey projects under the direction of a licensed surveyor and assisting project surveyors or engineers on projects.

Requirements

Surveyor 1: Bachelor’s degree; valid driver’s license; working towards obtaining the required semester hours of surveying courses that meets the NCEES Surveying Education Standard as approved by the Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors.
Surveyor 1: Accepted for Fundamental of Surveying examination (F.S) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; valid driver’s license.
Surveyor 2: Valid certificate of Surveyor Intern issued or accepted as equivalent by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 months experience as Surveyor 1, 85561; valid driver’s license.
Surveyor 2: Valid certificate as Surveyor Intern issued or accepted as equivalent by the Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors & 12 months experience surveying-related experience; valid driver’s license.
Valid driver’s license.
Overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.
Must serve a one (1) year probationary period.
Final candidate selected will be required to undergo a criminal background check.
