The company has an opening for an experienced Industrial Surveyor for a maintenance position in the Longview, TX area. This role plans, organizes, and directs surveying work to determine precise location and measurements of points of elevation, land areas, and contours for construction map making, land division, and other purposes. This is a non-exempt role that reports to the Foreman, with assigned duties according to specific procedures and frequent work checks.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Surveyor tools and equipment
  • Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
  • Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes and directs surveying work to determine precise location and measurements of points of elevation, land areas and contours for construction map making, land division and other purposes.
  • Provides work control lines and elevations that are required for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials by construction workers.
  • Provides checking of as-built conditions that require the use of surveying techniques.
  • Provides topographic and cross-section surveys as required for planning and payment quantities.
  • Provides quantity calculations as required.
  • Prepares documentation of surveying activities.
  • Maintains condition and adjustment of surveying equipment.
  • Coordinates surveying activities to meet construction requirements.
  • Must have knowledge of and ability to use all surveying equipment and techniques.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
