About The Position

The Surveyor manages technical functions, tests and maintains equipment, handles repairs, manages engineering projects, and conducts site inspections. The role also involves engaging with clients, ensuring compliance, conducting feasibility studies, and applying technical knowledge to practical problems. The Surveyor performs surveying and layout work on active construction sites, including establishing and maintaining horizontal and vertical project control, checking and calibrating instruments, interpreting drawings, and computing grades, coordinates, and concrete quantities. The role requires working safely in a demanding outdoor construction environment, following Clark Construction safety policies and procedures, and wearing required personal protective equipment. Flexibility to work extended hours during critical project phases or client deadlines is required. A pre-employment drug fitness-for-duty screening and random quarterly screenings are conducted.

  • Proficient in the use of scales.
  • Able to lay out footings, columns, and building lines without assistance.
  • Able to establish vertical dimensions from given finish floor elevations.
  • Able to compute concrete quantities for daily pours, slabs, columns, and similar work.
  • Able to conduct fine grading operations, level decks without assistance, and grade columns without assistance.
  • Able to establish secondary benchmarks and secondary horizontal and vertical control, including column lines and offsets.
  • Able to compute and track concrete during pours.
