Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of construction surveying experience on civil infrastructure, earthworks, or heavy civil projects.
  • Diploma or Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, Geomatics, or a related field.
  • Strong experience using GPS, Total Stations, laser levels, and other surveying equipment for layout and stakeout.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality control, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and around heavy equipment.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AutoCAD and survey software is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform topographic surveys, site layout, and construction stakeout using GPS, Total Stations, laser levels, and other surveying equipment.
  • Review drawings, specifications, elevations, and site plans to ensure accurate field construction and identify discrepancies.
  • Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and ground models throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide survey and layout support for civil infrastructure projects, including earthworks, utilities, roads, and structures.
  • Collect and manage survey data, complete quality control checks, and maintain accurate field records.
  • Coordinate with project teams, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve drawing conflicts and support project execution.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and safety requirements.
  • Update drawings and documentation to reflect design revisions and field changes.
  • Support project teams with quantity tracking, inspections, reporting, and overall construction coordination.
