About The Position

The Doe Run Company is currently seeking a Surveying Technician to support mine operations by assisting in the performance of surveying and mapping duties in underground mine operations and surface work areas. This day shift position is located at Sweetwater mine in Ellington, MO. The Doe Run Company is a privately held natural resources company and a global provider of lead, copper, and zinc concentrates, dedicated to environmentally responsible mineral and metal production. Doe Run operates six operating mines in Missouri and has operations in Missouri, Washington, and Arizona.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Experience in mine operations, surveying, or related field preferred.
Valid driver’s license
Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Drafting (AutoCAD), and database (AS400)
Proficient in math, trigonometry preferred

Responsibilities

Assist with the daily surveying of underground mine workings by conducting work area inspections, cleaning existing reference points, and setting new ones.
Paint guide marks on the faces.
Haul, set up, and tear down equipment.
Clean equipment as needed.
Transfer surveying data into AutoCAD and create and distribute maps of the mine workings to provide guidance to the work crews and mine supervision.
Perform volumetric calculations of tons mined.
Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health and safety) policies, procedures and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
