About The Position

This posting is for Summer 2027 Internship opportunities. IMEG is hiring a Surveying Intern in Walker, MN. Over 10-12 weeks, you will work closely with experienced engineers and consultants on engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, site drainage and grading design, and learning the Civil Engineering trade. This internship offers hands-on project experience while supporting project documentation, site observations, and cross-functional collaboration to help meet project goals and client expectations. You will gain exposure to work across survey, tribal, and public works markets.

Requirements

Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
May be required to assist with field duties like surveying and materials testing
Strong interest in design consulting
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

Nice To Haves

Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

Responsibilities

Assist with project design work for discipline systems in accordance with code and IMEG standards
Research commercially available equipment and supporting resources for project needs
Support client communication, project documentation, and permanent record files
Coordinate design and schedule needs with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment-supplier partners
Document design decisions, meetings, client instructions, and project progress
Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check
Help prepare and issue addendum information
Conduct periodic job site observations and perform other services required by the contract services agreement
