About The Position

Westat is seeking qualified candidates to make outgoing telephone calls to public and private K-12 schools to recruit their participation in a national survey for the National Science Foundation. This position requires working 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, at our Bethesda, Maryland, office, with working hours between 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.

Requirements

Experience making outgoing phone calls.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, excel and online systems.
US citizenship is required by contract.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Experience making outgoing phone calls to public and/or private K-12 schools.
Experience with a survey management system.
Ability to summarize a conversation in writing using accurate spelling and grammar.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to quickly establish rapport with school staff.
Ability to think quickly and answer questions as appropriate.
Demonstrated attention to detail.
Professional courtesy and proper telephone and email etiquette.

Responsibilities

Contact schools that have not responded to our initial mailings to encourage principals to participate and designate a school coordinator to facilitate communication during data collection.
Work with administrative staff to help facilitate communication with principals.
Assist principal/designated staff in identifying the best person at their school to serve as school coordinator.
Ensure that principals have copies of the study materials to make an informed decision about the best person to serve as school coordinator.
Arrange to send replacement materials to principals.
Document all phone and email communication with schools using the internal study management system.
Independently manage a large volume of case assignments.
