About The Position

The Survey Technician supports survey operations at Haile Gold Mine in South Carolina. The role performs set-out, design control, drill-hole, and grade-control work according to operational priorities in an active mining environment. It also checks as-built conditions for design compliance, maintains survey records, prepares plans and operational data using computer software, collects geotechnical data to specifications set by the Geotechnical Engineer, and assists the Senior Surveyor as requested. The position requires working safely around heavy machinery and traversing shot muck during blockouts. The technician is also expected to proactively seek a Part 107 remote pilot’s license.

Requirements

• Valid state driver's license.
• 1–3 years of experience in civil surveying.
• Physical fitness to traverse shot muck while performing blockouts.

Nice To Haves

• 1–3 years of experience in a hard rock mining environment.
• Previous experience with the Trimble GPS Platform.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety requirements and observe company policies and procedures.
• Complete set-out, design control, drill-hole, and grade-control work on time according to work priorities.
• Traverse shot muck while performing blockouts.
• Work safely around heavy machinery, including haul trucks, loaders, and drills.
• Check as-built conditions for design compliance as areas are mined and provide additional control to remediate variances as needed.
• Maintain records of survey data.
• Use computer software to produce plans and data for operations and the technical team.
• Proactively seek to attain a Part 107 remote pilot’s license.
• Collect geotechnical data at required intervals and according to specifications determined by the Geotechnical Engineer.
• Assist the Senior Surveyor with requested tasks.
