Jim Dent Construction, a leader in heavy civil construction across British Columbia, is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Survey Technician to join their dynamic Survey Team. This role involves executing a variety of heavy civil construction projects, supporting the construction team with earthworks, concrete structures, and pipeline installations. The ideal candidate will possess the technical skills and training necessary to excel in this role and flexibility to accommodate the demands of shift work across multiple project sites. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting our construction team with earthworks, concrete structures, and pipeline installations. You will be responsible for meticulously recording field data, interpreting complex construction drawings, and performing precise field calculations for layout purposes. Building intricate templates from road alignments, demonstrating strong mathematical skills, and maintaining an exceptional attention to detail are essential aspects of this role. In your day-to-day activities, you will engage in field layout and calculations, conduct topographical surveys, operate GPS setups and third-party control networks, and utilize Total Station and GNSS survey equipment. Additionally, you will be tasked with establishing new control points in remote and challenging locations. A comprehensive understanding of Trimble GNSS and Robotic equipment is indispensable for this position.
