About The Position

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Survey Technician to join their team. This position will assist Registered Professional Surveyors with CAD production, deed research, boundary analysis, easement preparation, legal description, and computing survey points. The role involves processing raw field data using Trimble Business Center and Civil 3D, performing QA/QC checks, and coordinating with field crews and other office staff. The Survey Technician will ensure division, regional, and company values, policies, and practices are consistently followed, and will lead by example by displaying solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Strong listening, writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, topographic surveys, preparation of easement documents, legal descriptions, final plat preparation, construction staking
  • Ability to operate AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center for production activities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, support project coordination, and interact with other design services.
  • Full use of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment that is in a growth mode.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate Degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related area of study
  • SIT Certification
  • Land Development, both Commercial and Residential, and Public Infrastructure Projects
  • Coordinating activities with office personnel, including surveying technicians and engineering staff
  • Experience searching for/recovering Public Land Survey System monuments
  • Ability to travel and remain on a project site or other Westwood office for extended periods (must have the capability of self-funding the total amount of expenses until reimbursement can be disbursed)
  • Processing and drafting utilizing LiDAR point clouds and imagery
  • TBC Scanning Module preferred
  • MicroStation experience preferred
  • Ability to utilize survey field equipment is preferred.
  • FAA Part 107 UAS License
