This position involves performing routine surveying work on a survey crew, providing surveying support with various equipment, and expediting survey progress. The role includes setting out and removing traffic control devices, clearing obstacles, operating survey instruments, setting stakes, performing various types of surveys (construction, design, monitoring, monument perpetuation), making calculations, creating sketches and field notes, and processing survey data. The technician will also use other survey equipment and CAD/computer programs, maintain instruments and equipment, and operate City Vehicles. This role requires the ability to perform physical labor, work in traffic, and potentially work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
