JMT is currently seeking a Surveying Technician I - Rodman/Instrument Operator for its Knoxville, Tennessee Office. The primary role of this position is to support the survey party crew chief in executing survey tasks, applying correct surveying methodologies in the field, and operating survey equipment to gather data. This role also involves assisting with boundary, topographic, as-built surveys, and construction staking, while providing necessary support to the field survey party.

Requirements

• Must be eligible for TN visa classification.
• Ability to set-up the tripod and prism for data collection.
• Ability to label topographic features from field codes.
• Ability to perform calculations.
• Ability to conduct field investigations.
• Ability to document tasks.
• Ability to complete data entry.
• Ability to assist Survey/SUE crew with handling and operation of survey and SUE equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the survey party crew chief with completing survey tasks.
• Implement proper surveying techniques in the field.
• Set-up and operate survey equipment to collect data.
• Provide support for the field survey party.
