About The Position

The Survey Party Chief is responsible for leading field survey operations, ensuring accurate data collection, and maintaining safety standards. This role involves working closely with various project stakeholders, utilizing specialized equipment and software, and performing physical tasks related to site surveying. The position requires a strong understanding of survey principles, construction practices, and safety regulations.

Requirements

2+ years of construction survey experience
Knowledge of Topcon GPS System
Ability to understand written material and basic math skills
Ability to communicate and convey information effectively
Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
Knowledge of OSHA Standards
Requires personal transportation to job sites
Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
Committed to attending work each day
Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Nice To Haves

Ability to obtain Arsenal and FBI Badge preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

Interface with field personnel, civil engineers, and project managers to develop detailed design documentation.
Examine land boundaries and property lines by researching previous land records, survey records, and other documentation.
Survey the site to gather information and precise measurements on geographic, hydrographic, and topographic features.
Utilize a variety of survey equipment daily such as base and rovers, grade rods, laser levels, equipment GPS systems, etc.
Use Topcon software and technology to complete tasks.
Cut and clear brush and trees from the line of survey, using brush hook, knife, ax, or other cutting tools.
Place stakes at designated points and drive them into the ground at specified elevation, using a hammer or hatchet.
Mark points of measurement with elevation, station number, or other identifying marks.
Assist in the operation of conventional and satellite survey equipment for completion of survey projects.
Load equipment for transport to worksite; unload equipment from vehicle to the worksite.
Identify and utilize survey equipment properly.
Adhere to all company safety and security policies.
Maintain a high level of quality work at all times.
Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times.
Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner.
