About The Position

Tri-Tech Surveying provides consistent, accurate and timely surveying services to our commercial customers and residential clients including production and custom homebuilders as well as individuals. We have an immediate opening for a Party Chief in our Production Builder Department. As a Party Chief you will engage in diverse survey tasks across various projects, including typical builder services like lot stakes, house corner & envelope staking, form surveys, elevation certificates, final surveys, construction staking, boundary surveys, and topographic surveys. Working under the guidance of our survey management team, you will apply your comprehensive understanding of field concepts, practices, and procedures to contribute to the success of the team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED diploma required.
  • Valid Driver's License and driving record that meets our insurance requirements
  • Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide and perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance and understand algebra, trigonometry, and geometry.
  • Able to operate instruments required for the collection or distribution of survey data (total station, data collector, GPS).
  • Proficient in the independent application and use of job-related software/e-technology/cloud-based solutions

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two years of job-related experience in the surveying industry or as a Party Chief is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to complete the duties of Rodman and/or Instrumentman.
  • Proficient in operating survey instruments and software, including total stations, GNSS GPS receivers, levels, and data collectors to assist with the determination of elevations and property boundaries for title surveys and elevation certificates.
  • Measuring distances on a variety of structures and relaying the data to crew.
  • Reading and utilizing subdivision plats and field notes to search for property corners.
  • Utilization of proper techniques in the use of prism poles, level rods and other equipment necessary in the performance of the job to ensure data is accurately collected.
  • Making field notes and drawing field sketches that properly reflect field conditions at the time of the survey.
  • Planning and performing various job scopes, ensuring that projects are correctly completed in the most precise and economically manner using the resources provided by the company and under the direction of their supervisor's.
  • Training their subordinates in the performance of their duties utilizing their own experience, knowledge and any resources provided by the company.
