About The Position

As a Survey Manager at LJA Surveying, you will be responsible for the daily management of Project Managers and multiple survey technicians and support staff in the Florida Survey Department. A typical day might include responsibility for supervision of business and project operations in the Florida Survey department, including budget, client relations, and business development. You will directly supervise the daily activities of the Florida Survey department, including project time and cost estimates, and be responsible for overseeing manpower and project projections. Business responsibilities include establishing an annual business plan with the President and Vice President, establishing office objectives, collaborating with PMs, establishing a group plan, balancing staffing and workload, prioritizing long-term resources, organizing project teams, achieving financial objectives, analyzing team and group financial performance, initiating corrective actions, reporting results to management, establishing project plans and objectives, collaborating with Project Managers to help them determine timeframes, budgets, staffing, and project schedules, assisting with developing project proposals as needed, maintaining executive-level client relationships, responding to project inquiries, serving as liaison between client and project team members, researching project information, utilizing AutoCAD and other related software packages as needed, communicating with other survey staff, and providing guidance to team members.

Requirements

  • Professional Licensed Surveyor
  • 15 years’ experience in the industry
  • 5 years of project management experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships

Responsibilities
