About The Position

The Survey Laborer will be responsible for assisting in survey operations by clearing land, setting stakes, and operating survey equipment. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols. The Survey Laborer will work closely with survey teams to ensure accurate and efficient completion of survey projects.

Requirements

Ability to understand written material and basic math skills
Ability to communicate and convey information effectively
Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
Knowledge of OSHA Standards
Dependable transportation
Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
Committed to attending work each day
Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

Cuts and clears brush and trees from the line of survey, using brush hook, knife, ax, or other cutting tools
Places stakes at designated points and drives them into the ground at specified elevation, using a hammer or hatchet
Marks points of measurement with elevation, station number, or other identifying marks
Assists in the operation of conventional and satellite survey equipment for completion of survey projects
Loads equipment for transport to worksite; unloads equipment from vehicle to the worksite
Identifies and utilizes survey equipment properly
Adheres to all company safety and security policies
Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times
Perform other duties as assigned
Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner
