About The Position

R. Joe Harris & Associates, Inc. is seeking a dependable and motivated Survey Instrument Operator to support field operations as part of its surveying team. The role works closely with survey crew chiefs, office survey staff, and clients to help deliver accurate, high-quality results. The operator assists with a variety of land surveying and civil site projects and uses modern surveying technology. Requirements

• Basic understanding of land surveying principles.
• Familiarity with GPS receivers, total stations, and robotic total stations.
• Strong math skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Trimble and Carlson data collectors is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with topographic, boundary, location/design, construction staking, and as-built surveys.
• Operate total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors, including Trimble and Carlson equipment.
• Collect accurate field data and ensure proper documentation for project deliverables.
• Support the survey crew chief with project setup, data transfer, and equipment management.
