About The Position

IMEG is hiring a Survey Field Technician in Nashua, NH, to support land surveying field projects through accurate field data collection and survey assistance. In this role, you will work under the leadership of a Crew Chief, Senior Crew Chief, or Office Coordinator, applying survey principles, methods, and techniques across assigned projects. The survey team serves private and public clients with advanced technologies such as 3D scanners, laser scanners, and drones. IMEG’s survey group includes 100+ professionals, including licensed surveyors, delivering responsive and reliable surveying solutions. The team supports a wide range of services, including topographic surveys, subsurface utility surveys, geodetic and boundary surveys, right-of-way mapping, and land acquisition services. Survey professionals serve both private and public clients, including municipalities, DOTs, and federal agencies.

Requirements

  • Associates degree, or certificate, in Land Surveying or Engineering preferred
  • 1 year of experience minimum required, 2 preferred, in the land surveying or construction industry preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret operating procedures, safety documents, and maintenance instructions
  • Ability to read surveys and engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of modern survey equipment, devices, and methods
  • Problem-solving techniques
  • Ability to work independently as well as proactively collaborate as part of a team
  • Possesses basic oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to professionally represent IMEG
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier; must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check
  • Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays

Responsibilities

  • Collect field data for land surveys, including boundary, topographic, and construction stakeout work
  • Support day-to-day field operations on assigned survey projects
  • Operate, maintain, and handle survey equipment, data collection tools, and other geodetic and reality capture equipment
  • Set points on construction stakeout projects
  • Perform quality checks using assigned survey equipment
  • Download project data
  • Maintain professional and productive working relationships with clients and coworkers
  • Operate a company vehicle and observe safety and security procedures
