About The Position

Join T2 Utility Engineers (T2ue) in Fridley, MN as an entry-level Survey Field Technician. This role offers on-the-job training, knowledge, and experience in surveying and mapping, with no prior experience or advanced degree required. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Ability to use standard survey equipment as instructed; training will be provided
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, by company vehicle or commercial airline, up to 2 week continuous stay
  • Outdoor work in all climates
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical (U.S. only)
  • Ability to stand and walk on smooth and uneven terrain for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical activities to include bending, squatting, etc. related to carrying and operating survey equipment and other tools
  • Must have good oral communication skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Loading and unloading survey equipment and supplies each day
  • Clean and maintain survey equipment such as: GPS, Total Stations / Robotic Total Stations, levels, etc. as directed by the instrument operator
  • Learn the operation of survey equipment; total stations, data collection devices, GPS equipment and digital/automatic levels
  • Setting up survey tri-pods to provide backsite and foresight operations
  • Cutting line
  • Perform safety set-up and flagging operations under the direction of Survey Crew Chief
  • Assist with daily vehicle pre-checks, cleaning, and completing truck sheets
  • Assist with monthly survey equipment inventory
  • Support Subsurface Utility Engineering services as required
  • Other duties as required
