The SURVEY FIELD SUPPORT is an entry-level position to assist in surveying land by performing tasks as directed by Survey Party Chief or other senior survey staff. Holds level or stadia rod at designated points to assist in determining elevations and position of stakes for mapmaking, construction, land, and other surveys. Calls out readings or records readings, as directed. Marks points of measurement with elevation, station number, or identifying mark. Measures distance between survey points with steel or cloth tape or surveyor’s chain. Marks measuring points with keel, paint sticks, scratches, tacks, or stakes. Places stakes at designated points and drives them into ground at specified elevation. Cuts and clears brush and trees from line of survey. Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
