About The Position
Sparta Networking is supporting a leading construction company in hiring an experienced Survey Crew Chief to support land surveying operations in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on overseeing field survey activities, ensuring accuracy, and supporting project layout and execution.
Requirements
- Experience as a Survey Crew Chief or similar leadership role in surveying
- Strong knowledge of surveying methods, equipment, and layout procedures
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints
- Experience with GPS and total station equipment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime when needed
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise survey crew members in daily field operations
- Perform construction layout, boundary, and topographic surveys
- Operate and maintain survey equipment including GPS, total stations, and data collectors
- Ensure accuracy of measurements and data collection
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field crews
- Maintain field notes, records, and survey documentation
- Train and mentor junior survey team members
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards
