About The Position

We are currently searching for an experienced Survey Crew Chief in Indiana to support our Midwest Region (IN, IL, KY, and OH). For this position, candidate must be willing to travel.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working as a Party Chief
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency in construction staking and boundary and topographic surveys
• Ability to travel up to 25%
• Ability to demonstrate organizational skills, including attention to detail
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines.
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)

Responsibilities

• Supervises a crew which conducts field surveys as defined by the project manager
• Accomplishes majority of survey tasks with limited interaction with supervisors and/or Land Surveyors
• Communicates effectively with, and meets the needs of the client representative, governing agent and public representatives involved in each project; keeps the client field representative informed as to progress and problems and notifies when job is complete
• Communicates effectively with project manager as to project progress, problems, client change requests and job completion
