About The Position

WECTEC Staffing Services, a subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, is seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to support utility infrastructure projects. This field-based role involves conducting various land surveying activities, including topographic surveys, construction staking, and data collection using advanced technologies like GPS equipment, laser scanners, and Trimble survey systems. The collected data is crucial for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of critical utility infrastructure projects such as electric distribution, gas, electric transmission, and substation facilities.

Requirements

4+ years of land surveying experience.
Experience operating survey-grade GPS equipment.
Experience using laser scanning technology.
Proficiency with Trimble survey equipment and data collectors.
Computer and technology skills.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently.
Work outdoors in different weather and field conditions.
Experience with surveying principles, procedures, and field practices.

Responsibilities

Perform topographic, construction, boundary, and utility-related land surveys.
Operate GPS survey equipment, laser scanners, and Trimble data collectors.
Collect, process, and document survey data for engineering and construction projects.
Travel to project sites and independently complete assigned survey tasks.
Support electric distribution, gas, transmission, and substation projects across multiple locations.
Ensure survey work meets company standards, project requirements, and safety regulations.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, designers, and survey team members.
Maintain surveying equipment and ensure calibration and operation.
Complete field documentation and provide accurate deliverables to project teams.
