Survey Crew Chief/Survey Party Chief
About The Position
The geomatics crew chief oversees the daily field operations of a land survey crew. This role involves determining the most efficient plan of action for data acquisition for field surveys, ranging from primary control through construction layout and as-built surveys, as needed. The position requires proficiency with documentation of work performed and sketches, and daily communication with the Project Surveyor and technician regarding project schedule and work progress. The crew chief will also interact professionally with client representatives and landowners, read and interpret construction drawings/specifications, and understand all aspects of land survey project specifications and tolerances. Additionally, the role includes preparing daily reports, time sheets, and other required paperwork, as well as maintaining the land surveying vehicle and field equipment. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of industry experience.
- Competent operating total stations, GNSS receivers, data collectors, and tablet PCs.
- Strong computer and technical skills.
- Strong communication skills (listening, writing and verbal).
- Proven work history, strong work ethic, and team-player attitude.
- Ability to travel for extended periods.
- Ability to work in all-weather climates.
- Ability to walk long distances through a variety of terrains and carry up to 80lbs.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company MVR standards.
- Clean background check and drug screening.
Nice To Haves
- Prior crew chief experience is preferred.
- Experience with Trimble equipment is preferred.
- Part 107 licensure or ability to obtain licensure.
