About The Position

ESP Associates, Inc. is seeking a full-time Survey CAD Technician to join our Greensboro, NC office. This role requires a blend of office and field work, focusing on land development surveys with an emphasis on commercial, residential, various route types, and construction layout. The technician will be responsible for survey computations, platting, and demonstrating strong self-motivational and organizational skills.

Requirements

• Demonstrate strong self-motivational and organizational skills.
• Experience with survey computations and platting.
• Field experience required.
• Land Development survey experience required with emphasis on commercial, residential, various route types and construction layout.
• Experience with Trimble data collection, GPS receivers, robotic total stations, Civil 3d 2013, MicroStation, Geopak required.
• Computer skills involved in the submittal of daily files including downloading of data, preparation/organization of field sketches & digital photographs, completion of daily checklists & timesheets, and vehicle navigation are required.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree or higher in surveying technology/geomatics, civil engineering, or related field.
• Registration as a SIT preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience in land surveying preferred.
• PLSCADD and ArcGIS experience a plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Earth, and Trimble Data Transfer a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform survey computations and platting.
• Conduct land development surveys, including commercial, residential, various route types, and construction layout.
• Utilize Trimble data collection, GPS receivers, and robotic total stations.
• Work with Civil 3D 2013, MicroStation, and Geopak.
• Manage daily file submittals, including downloading data, preparing field sketches and digital photographs, and completing daily checklists and timesheets.
• Navigate vehicles for work purposes.
