About The Position

Join our partner firm, 4Ward Land Surveying, as a full-time, on-site Land Survey CAD Technician. As a key member of our team, the CAD Technician will assist in the field-to-finish survey process, supporting a wide variety of survey tasks for our commercial clients, ranging from Boundary Surveys to complex As-Builts using Terrestrial Scanning. In this role, you will be responsible for property research, field crew preparations, survey computations, and drafting using Civil3D. The specific duties and responsibilities will align with your level of experience, allowing for growth and development within the team. As a CAD Technician, you'll have the opportunity to advance through leveled CAD positions and potentially explore career growth into Project Management roles, including becoming an SIT (Surveyor-in-Training) and ultimately achieving RPLS (Registered Professional Land Surveyor) status. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 year of experience with AutoCAD in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry preferred, or 1 year of land surveying field experience may substitute 1 year of CAD experience.
  • Ability to work during the standard business hours of 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate maps and information to field crews based on the specific requirements and scope of each project.
  • Interpret and analyze survey-related materials such as deeds, plats, and title commitments to ensure precise and reliable data.
  • Maintain effective communication with team members and stakeholders, ensuring clarity and consistency across all projects.
  • Utilization of survey line coding techniques to aid in drafting efficiently.
  • Use Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center software for drafting, processing, and data analysis (experience with these platforms preferred).
  • Integrate and apply data gathered from aerial and terrestrial LiDAR technologies to enhance survey accuracy and efficiency (familiarity with LiDAR systems preferred).
