About The Position

This role involves ensuring the integrity and functionality of surveillance and security systems within a gaming environment. The technician will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and repairing video and access control networks, including cameras, servers, and related hardware. The position also requires managing user accounts, assisting with training, and performing duties as a surveillance officer when needed. Staying current with industry trends and gaming regulations is essential.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain certification for the department’s current and/or future video management system is required.
  • Ability to obtain a state gaming license is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer networking and programming (Cisco, C++, Visual Basic, etc.)
  • Highly advanced technical skills and knowledge of network address assignment, routing protocols, directory services, schematic diagrams, and CCTV systems.
  • Expert knowledge manipulating data in Microsoft Access, Excel, and SQL database.
  • Must be able to pull heavy communication cable, lift objects, use technician trade equipment, and work with low voltage electrical equipment.
  • Remains informed of state gaming rules and regulations and company/internal controls.
  • Stay current on industry trends and technological advances.
  • Able to lift and carry up to thirty pounds occasionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree from a two-year college or accredited technical school in electronics or information technology related field preferred.
  • 2 years’ experience in surveillance or in security.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with confidentiality regulations regarding all surveillance information.
  • Monitor the overall integrity of the video and access control network, server deployment, security, and connectivity.
  • Assist in the planning, placement, and installation of cameras and support equipment.
  • Maintain and program the operating functions of the surveillance and security systems matrix.
  • Repair and/or replace surveillance equipment, including cameras, servers, workstations, printers, routers, encoders, switches, archives, storage arrays, access control hardware, and cabling.
  • Handle recommendations and procurement of new hardware, roll out new software installs/patches, install, test, modify, and monitor performance of video and access control networks.
  • Troubleshoot, modify, and understand large video switching systems within a gaming environment.
  • Manage a preventive maintenance program to mitigate technical equipment failure risks.
  • Manage stock inventory of technical equipment and supplies.
  • Manage and assign user accounts, credentials, and rights.
  • Assist with the training program of surveillance supervisors and operators.
  • Perform duties as surveillance officer as needed.
  • Role model company guest service program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
