About The Position

The Surveillance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and enhancements of all surveillance equipment. This role involves creating floor plans, making recommendations to increase profitability through secured coverage and documentation, and performing preventative maintenance on surveillance systems. The technician will review the integrity of recording ability and internal control deficiencies, recommending camera styles and coverage standards to the Surveillance Manager. A key aspect of the role is minimizing equipment downtime through an on-call maintenance program and developing a comprehensive database of floor plans, cabling diagrams, and alarm locations. The technician must understand diagnostics and troubleshooting of recording processor systems, research equipment upgrades, and report significant problems to the supervisor. Maintaining a written log of all work, staying knowledgeable about property events, attending meetings, and maintaining confidentiality are also crucial. The role requires sensitivity to Native American Culture and adherence to Leech Lake Gaming policies and regulations to secure assets.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills to produce reports as needed or required by management.
  • High mechanical and electronic aptitude.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to think in a logical manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Two to four years related experience.
  • Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains, repairs, and enhances surveillance equipment.
  • Creates floor plans to show camera strategic coverage and areas of concern.
  • Makes recommendations to support the organization’s increase in profitability through secured coverage and documentation.
  • Performs preventative maintenance to Surveillance systems on a routine basis.
  • Reviews integrity of recording ability.
  • Reviews area of internal control deficiencies to recommend camera styles and coverage standards to casino site Surveillance Manager.
  • Minimizes down time of surveillance equipment by an approved process of a 24-hour on-call maintenance program.
  • Develops a full understanding of job and planning so as to complete an essential floor plan database with cabling diagrams consisting of coverage and alarm location attributes supported by the specifications of surveillance equipment.
  • Has a clear understanding of diagnostics and trouble-shooting of recording processor systems.
  • Researches affordable and productive equipment up-grades in all areas of equipment and applications.
  • Informs Surveillance supervisor of significant problems or compromise of surveillance, jeopardizing the achievement of objectives on line management level.
  • Maintains a written log of all work and repairs done to surveillance equipment.
  • Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
  • Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
  • Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
  • Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
