This is a 2nd Shift Position. The Surveillance Officer's primary function is to observe and report any and all activities related to gaming and the normal operations of the casino property. The role involves monitoring all areas of the Grand Casino via CCTV and direct observation, maintaining a logbook of daily operations, and maintaining and installing surveillance equipment. The position requires a working knowledge of computer systems, mathematics, information management, property layout, emergency procedures, budget planning, and advanced surveillance techniques, including covert casino surveillance. The incumbent works under the general supervision of the Surveillance Shift Supervisor, handling most work independently according to established policies. The work involves applying industrial standards, employer operating procedures, and various guidelines. The complexity of the role can vary from mild to extremely intensive, often requiring the development of new techniques. The scope of the work is to provide technical expertise in the design, maintenance, and safety of IT, security, and surveillance systems, affecting the quality of automated systems throughout the property. Personal contacts range from ordinary citizens to international dignitaries and representatives from various governmental and tribal organizations, with the purpose of exchanging information, which may involve dealing with difficult individuals. The position requires prolonged and irregular hours, bending, stooping, climbing, walking, and prolonged periods of sitting while watching monitors. The work environment is an inside office setting, and training is provided. Experience with Microsoft operating systems and basic TCP/IP networking is desirable.
