About The Position

The incumbent is responsible for performing surveillance duties to ensure state and federal gaming laws and policies and procedures are being maintained in games, cashiers and count rooms. This role also provides security for VLT equipment, monitors jackpot and floor fill data into the SIS Computer, and performs surveillance of the gaming floor, parking lot, parking garage, back-of-the-house areas, outbuildings and shops by means of complex electronic and video equipment. The position requires delivering superior internal and external guest service the Boyd Gaming Way and working harmoniously with fellow team members. It involves observing and reporting gaming violations and/or thefts, operating monitor room equipment, and maintaining video surveillance of the entire gaming facility. The role also includes participating in court actions, learning all games and their cheating indicators, maintaining logs, and responding to various requests. The position is required to spend the majority of shifts in a small enclosed work area and requires the ability to work varying shifts and time schedules.

Requirements

Effective mathematics and communication skills.
Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
Ability to maintain all Regulatory licenses within assigned state of employment.
Must successfully pass background check.
Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening.
Ability to observe and identify suspected cheaters and cheating techniques.
Must have 20/20 corrected vision.
Must be able to use the equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, radio equipment, computer monitors, keyboard and MV99 Robot multiplexers and video recorders.
Must be able to accurately monitor VLT equipment of SIS system.
Must be able to inspect and maintain areas for which responsible and distinguish between different denominations of currency.
Ability to effectively and efficiently move around all work areas.
Ability to work in secluded areas.
Ability to operate all surveillance equipment.
Ability to perform basic mathematical and computer functions.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.

Responsibilities

Perform surveillance duties to ensure state and federal gaming laws and policies and procedures are being maintained in games, cashiers and count rooms.
Provide security for VLT equipment.
Monitor jackpot and floor fill data into the SIS Computer.
Perform surveillance of the gaming floor, parking lot, parking garage, back-of-the-house areas, outbuildings and shops by means of complex electronic and video equipment.
Observe and report any and all gaming violations and/or thefts of property.
Operate monitor room equipment, including basic computer functions.
Monitor VLT equipment of SIS System to provide security for company assets and funds.
Maintain video surveillance of the entire gaming facility, food and beverage outlets, parking lot, parking garages, outbuildings and shops.
Video record gaming and security-related incidents within the realm of monitor room video recording and surveillance capabilities.
Participate in court actions relating to gaming violations.
Learn all games in use and all procedures and cheating indicators of such games.
Maintain paper video logs and maintain logs per department and company procedures.
Write proper reports as needed.
Respond to surveillance supervision and gaming control requests, as well as all other departments when necessary.
