About The Position

The Surveillance Agent is responsible for ensuring daily tasks are completed, monitoring audio and video surveillance equipment, and dispatching from the monitoring room to conduct normal activities. This role involves dispatching correct information to security, providing for the safety and security of patrons, employees, visitors, and assets of the Casino. The agent will monitor activity to ensure compliance with all Gaming policies and procedures and notify the Supervisor of any irregularities in a timely fashion.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must pass written and visual skills test including math and reading comprehension.
  • Must be able to obtain a Class B Gaming License.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including E-mail, Itrak incident reporting, routine database activity, word processing, Omnigo CAD dispatch software.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies and procedures and training manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively to coworkers and other departments.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as payout percentages.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, phones, fax, etc.).
  • Must be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
  • Report all unsafe activities to Supervisor.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Practicing, supporting, and promoting Bear River Tribal Gaming Agencies culture and demonstrating exemplary Service Standards at all times.
  • Being completely familiar with gaming regulations, Internal Control System, departmental policies and procedures, and having working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Monitoring other departments' policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining current information on known cheaters, advantage players, scams, and illegal methods of gaming.
  • Thoroughly understanding emergency action procedures.
  • Cooperating with other departments in protecting assets.
  • Attending court, hearings, and other legal meetings as a witness for gaming regulatory agencies, or law enforcement agencies when appropriate.
  • Operating all surveillance CCTV and related equipment, and if necessary, conducting floor observations to detect any violations of law, policies, and procedures.
  • Reporting to Supervisor any violations of the law, gaming regulations, and policies and procedures.
  • Observing the precepts of truth, accuracy, and prudence, and not allowing personal feelings, prejudices, animosities, or friendships to interfere or influence judgments.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality with respect to the operations, controls, and procedures involved in surveillance activities.
  • Having superior knowledge of all casino games, including but not limited to Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, Pai Gow Poker, Three Card Poker, Craps, Slots, and understanding all relevant aspects of each game, such as dealing procedures, counting strategies and methods of cheating.
  • Conducting routine random surveillance and special observations as approved by surveillance management.
  • Conducting surveillance reviews or audits to confirm transactions or events.
  • Being reliable, trustworthy, and honest.
  • Working with highly sensitive information, maintaining confidentiality and discretion in all areas.
  • Making limited decisions when supervisor is out of the room.
