About The Position

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surplus Lines Property & Casualty Underwriter to join a dynamic Underwriting Team. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing a renewal book, producing new business, underwriting, and managing accounts within assigned territories. You will play a critical role in maintaining a profitable book of business while building strong relationships with producers, clients, and carrier partners.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, or equivalent business experience.
Minimum of five (5) years of Surplus Lines Property & Casualty underwriting experience.
Strong underwriting and marketing skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional customer service skills and a strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the industry.
Highly responsive with excellent decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in computer operations within a Windows environment.
Licensed Surplus Lines Property & Casualty Producer.

Nice To Haves

CPCU designation preferred.

Responsibilities

Review and analyze submissions for acceptability and completeness, securing supplemental information as needed.
Service existing accounts, monitor claims and loss experience, and recommend changes to maintain profitability.
Determine and recommend acceptable terms within underwriting authority, bind coverage, and oversee timely issuance of policies.
Build and maintain a profitable book of business.
Develop comprehensive referrals for management team review or carrier approval.
Research and resolve underwriting issues with management or carriers on a case-by-case basis.
Maintain and develop strong relationships with producers and members.
Travel as needed to attend industry functions and meet with producers and members.
Assist with special reports and projects as assigned.
