About The Position

As a Surgical Technologist at Southwest Health System, you’ll help power safe, smooth procedures by keeping the sterile field, instruments, and equipment perfectly ready for the surgical team. You move with purpose as rooms come alive: lights, monitors, trays, and carts aligned for the next case. Between procedures, the pace stays thrilling—resetting the space, coordinating what’s needed next, and keeping communication crisp so transitions feel seamless. You’ll work side-by-side with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia in a tight-knit environment where timing matters and details win. By shift’s end, you’ve helped deliver a safer surgical experience—one well-orchestrated moment at a time.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED; BLS
Colorado Surgical Technologist licensure
Strong experience across minimally invasive, general, ENT, orthopedics, vascular, and podiatric specialties
English communication
Strong customer service skills
Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

CST preferred
2 years OR experience preferred
Additional languages preferred

Responsibilities

Set up OR equipment/supplies for efficient use; verify sterility, cleanliness, and function before each case
Support equipment use during procedures; help position patients; scrub as primary or secondary staff and assist others with gowning/gloving and PPE
Pass instruments/supplies, hold retractors, apply dressings, and complete sponge/needle/instrument counts per policy
Turn over rooms, clean the OR, and wash/sterilize equipment; assemble case carts and recommend equipment/supply needs
Champion patient safety goals, confidentiality, and compliance with fire/safety/infection control and ethical standards
