About The Position
This role is for a Surgical Technologist in the Labor & Delivery department at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital Pensacola. The position is full-time and involves night shifts. The Surgical Technologist will be responsible for preparing the operating suite, assisting surgeons during procedures by handing instruments and supplies, preparing and positioning patients, maintaining instruments, and assisting with hemostasis.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Minimum one (1) year of Surgical Tech experience
Responsibilities
- Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
- Hand required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
- Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
- Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor and track instruments counts throughout procedures.
- Assist surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.
