Surgical Technologist - Outpatient Surgery Center
About The Position
The UW Medical Center-Northwest Outpatient Surgery Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Surgical Technologist. This position functions competently and independently within multiple specialty areas. The teamwork among our employees makes the department an enjoyable and exciting place to work. Inherent to success in this position is organization, desire to work in a team-oriented academic medical setting, capability to stay abreast of current developments relevant to the position, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and knowledge of the duties of a Surgical Technologist.
Requirements
- Completion of a Surgical Technologist program AND one year of experience assisting clinical staff in a variety of operative procedures in an operating room environment.
- Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
Nice To Haves
- Certification as scrub technologist
- Six months of experience as an Operating Room Technician in a hospital operating room or childbirth center
Responsibilities
- Take the lead in the patient care experience by prepping and maintaining our Operating Rooms for surgical procedures
- Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and partners, from our scheduling team to surgeons
- Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, problem-solving environment while maintaining vigilance of instruments and supplies used during surgical procedures
- Perform scrub role while supporting patient safety a sterile environment
- Support of post-operative tasks, including removal of contaminated instruments, decontamination, sterilization and turnover of the Operating Room
- Facilitating assigned surgical procedures through the assembly of instrumentation, equipment, and supplies
