Surgical Technologist (ST) - Operating Room
About The Position
The Surgical Technologist (ST) in the Operating Room ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking, anticipation and management of case specific needs, under the direct supervision of the RN. This role is responsible for ensuring complete, accurate, and timely care, cleanliness, and management of instruments, equipment, and supplies. The ST communicates effectively, professionally, and positively with the multidisciplinary team, co-workers, and patients. They take personal responsibility for their performance, professional growth, and development, and demonstrate cost containment activities related to instruments and inventory.
Requirements
- Graduation from a Surgical Technology program.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Certification in specialty area preferred.
Responsibilities
- Ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking, anticipation and management of case specific needs, under direct supervision of the RN.
- Ensures complete, accurate and timely care, cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment and supplies.
