About The Position

The Surgical Technologist prepares the operating room and patient for surgery, supports the Surgeon throughout the procedure, and helps maintain a sterile environment. The role includes preparing, sterilizing, and inventorying instruments and supplies, assisting during the operation, and accounting for surgical items before and after the procedure.

Responsibilities

• Set up the instruments and equipment required for the procedure.
• Sterilize equipment and take inventory to ensure sufficient supplies are available for surgery.
• Prepare the patient for surgery.
• Pass instruments and sterile supplies to the Surgeon throughout the operation.
• Count all surgical instruments and supplies before the operation.
• Recount surgical instruments and supplies at the end of the operation.
• Maintain an overall sterile environment throughout the surgery.
