About The Position
The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) functions in a scrub role for operative and other invasive procedures including establishing and maintaining a sterile field, specimen handling, counts, medications/solutions, implants and instrument processing and may assist with circulating duties, as well as, participate in activities related to standards and quality improvement for the specialty and the department. Requirements
- Active national Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
- Completion of a Surgical Technician program.
- Ability to sit for certification exam.
- A minimum of one (1) year of Certified Surgical Technologist experience or successful completion of SMH Operating Room CST internship program.
- Proficiency in one (1) or more specialty area/service lines.
- BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR certification.
- CST: Certified Surg Technologist certification.
- Background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
