About The Position

Pacific Sacramento Surgery Center, LLC (PSSC), a subsidiary of University of the Pacific, is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the launch and ongoing operations of its new Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in Sacramento, California. This role is ideal for a motivated and adaptable surgical professional who thrives in a growing, team-oriented environment focused on exceptional patient care, innovation, and clinical education. The Surgical Technologist will support Operating Room (OR) readiness, sterile processing workflows, equipment and supply management, and surgical procedures. The role works closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • High school graduate.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • One (1) year of experience in perioperative, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), OR, procedural, ambulatory, or related surgical setting required.
  • Utilize computers and electronic systems proficiently.

Nice To Haves

  • Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience preferred, but not required for strong candidates with relevant surgical or procedural experience in dental, oral and maxillofacial surgery, head and neck surgery, ENT /Otolaryngology, facial and cosmetic surgery
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in workflow development, regulatory readiness, including accreditation preparation and infection prevention practices.
  • Prepare and maintain sterile operating rooms and surgical environments.
  • Assist surgeons during procedures by anticipating instrumentation and supply needs.
  • Perform instrument, sponge, and needle counts with circulating staff.
  • Assemble, clean, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments and trays.
  • Support OR setup, equipment readiness, and supply inventory management.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and collaboration across the clinical team.
  • Maintain compliance with all ASC, safety, and accreditation standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
