About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the surgical team in the Operating Room by preparing the operating room, gathering necessary equipment and supplies, and providing direct assistance to the surgeon during operative procedures. The Surgical Technologist ensures a sterile field is maintained and assists in patient care before, during, and after surgery.

Requirements

• Significant manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity.
• Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force (Very Heavy effort).
• Willingness to work in an environment with significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
• Must be able to maintain a sterile field.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by setting up sterile instruments, drapes, and supplies.
• Assist the surgeon and surgical team during operative procedures by anticipating needs and passing instruments and supplies.
• Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure.
• Monitor and manage surgical supplies and equipment.
• Assist with patient positioning and preparation for surgery.
• Participate in post-operative procedures, including room cleanup and instrument sterilization.
