Surgical Technologist - Labor and Delivery
About The Position
The UW MEDICAL CENTER - NORTHWEST – CHILDBIRTH CENTER has an outstanding opportunity for a SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST. This role is responsible for facilitating assigned surgical procedures through the assembly of instrumentation, equipment, and supplies. The ideal candidate will have certification as a scrub technologist and/or six months of experience as an Operating Room Technician in a hospital operating room or childbirth center. Inherent to success in this position is organization, desire to work in a team-oriented academic medical setting, capability to stay abreast of current developments relevant to the position, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and knowledge of the duties of a Surgical Technologist.
Requirements
- Completion of a Surgical Technologist program AND one year of experience assisting clinical staff in a variety of operative procedures in an operating room environment OR equivalent education/experience.
- Certification as scrub technologist and/or six months of experience as an Operating Room Technician in a hospital operating room or childbirth center

Responsibilities
- Take the lead in the patient care experience by prepping and maintaining our Operating Rooms for surgical procedures
- Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and partners, from our scheduling team to surgeons
- Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, problem-solving environment while maintaining vigilance of instruments and supplies used during surgical procedures
- Perform scrub role while supporting patient safety a sterile environment
- Support of post-operative tasks, including removal of contaminated instruments, decontamination, sterilization and turnover of the Operating Room

- Evening Shift: $1.75/hour
- Night Shift: $5.00/hour
- Weekends: $4.00/hour
