About The Position

This is a full-time position in the Operating Room at High Point Medical Center. The Surgical Technologist ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking and management of case-specific needs under the supervision of an RN. They are responsible for the cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment, and supplies, effective communication with the team and patients, and cost containment activities related to instruments and inventory. The role requires functioning effectively under stressful situations, flexibility in a changing environment, and strong patient safety and technology skills.

Requirements

Graduation from a Surgical Technology program.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.

Nice To Haves

Certification in specialty area preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking, anticipation and management of case specific needs, under direct supervision of the RN.
Ensures complete, accurate and timely care, cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment and supplies.
Communicates to the team, co-workers and patients in an effective, positive and professional manner. Demonstrates effective, positive, professional manners while exercising verbal and nonverbal communication to the multidisciplinary team, co-workers, and patients.
Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance, professional growth and development.
Demonstrates cost containment activities of instruments and inventory.
