About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join a General Surgery team in Illinois. The Surgical Technologist supports surgeons and the perioperative team in providing safe and effective surgical care. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe operating room environment, preparing surgical equipment and instruments, and supporting invasive and non-invasive procedures while prioritizing patient safety.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Completion of a Surgical Technology program with eligibility to sit for certification OR Minimum of 2 years of Surgical Technologist/Technician experience if a Surgical Technology program has not been completed (for Surgical Technologist I)
Completion of a Surgical Technology program and Surgical Technologist certification with at least 3 years of Surgical Technologist experience OR Minimum of 5 years of Surgical Technologist experience without certification (for Surgical Technologist II)
Current American Heart Association BLS certification required

Responsibilities

Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures
Assist surgeons and the surgical team throughout operative procedures
Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection prevention standards
Verify that surgical equipment and instruments are functioning properly
Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team during procedures
Identify significant patient conditions or reactions and communicate concerns to the appropriate care team
Follow department policies, safety standards, and established surgical procedures
Support efficient operating room workflow and turnover
