About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join their Main Operating Room team at Baptist Medical Center South. This is a PRN Days position with varied shifts, requiring on-call duties. The role involves assisting the surgical team during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, handing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring patient safety. Responsibilities also include cleaning and restocking the operating room between surgeries. Precision, attention to detail, and teamwork are essential for providing quality patient care.
Requirements
- Less than 1 year Surgical Technologist Experience
- Vocational School or Associates Degree Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- Certified Surgical Technologist
Responsibilities
- Assembling, organizing and maintaining a sterile field for operative procedures
- Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and progression of the case and prepare accordingly
- Proper disposition of specimens and instruments
- Works with entire surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety
- Call is required for this position
- Assist the surgical team during surgeries
- Ensure a sterile environment
- Hand instruments to surgeons during procedures
- Maintain patient safety
